Reflective Parenting Workshop

Format: Virtual, 90-min. sessions

Cost: $110 /parent per session. Or $220 /co-parents per session.

Workshop Summary: Through this 5-week workshop series, caregivers will gain a new understanding of parent/child interactions. By providing a mixture of psychoeducation and therapeutic processing activities for caregivers to reflect and practice skills in “real time”, caregivers will be given the tools to cultivate stronger relationships and develop effective parenting strategies.

This workshop will help caregivers:

  • Develop new ways of thinking and understanding their child’s behavior.

  • Navigate difficult conversations. 

  • Offer tools to decrease stress and tension in the home.  

  • Develop skills to support the Parent /Child relationship when under stress.  

  • Learn to effectively intervene when managing difficult behaviors and situations.

Grief Support Groups & Walks

Grief Support Groups

AVAILABLE GRIEF GROUPS: Loss To Suicide, Loss of Family and Friends

DURATION: Open and Ongoing Group, 90 minute sessions, new members are welcomed every 3 months

FEE: $125/session

Utilizing an empirically validated grief model, the group will provide a safe space for members to sit with and express their grief, to witness and be validated in their grief, to integrate the reality of the death of their loved one, to re-envision their future, and to recover or reclaim inner and outer resources. This group will be facilitated by Megan Gaffney, MHC-LP and a Dwellness Advanced Clinical Trainee. Clients can schedule a free consultation here.

Grief Walks

START DATE: Mid-September & Ongoing

DURATION: 45 minute walking sessions, 8-12 weeks, upon inclement weather session will be virtual or rescheduled

FEE: $40-90/45 minute walk, based on financial need

In partnership with Sparrow, Dwellness will be offering Grief Walks to individuals, families or couples, throughout the arboretum of Green-wood cemetery, Riverside Park, or Trinity Cemetery and Mausoleum. Grief walks will offer the opportunity to engage in several healing factors:

  • The ability to share your grief without fear of burdening others, thereby reducing loneliness and withdrawal

  • The grounding and healing impact of connecting with and witnessing nature.

  • The psychological benefits of physical activity, during a time when it can be very hard to move

  • The exposure to death as a part of life, through walking amongst those who have passed

FEE: $40-90 per 45 minute walk (based on financial need). These Grief Walks will be facilitated by Dwellness’ Advanced Clinical Trainees.
